All citizens and tourists in the UWA have a right to a trial with the UWA Judicial System.
Before you can file a case, you must first choose your representation in court. Most choose to represent themselves, but some may choose to hire a lawyer. The UWA does not currently offer free lawyer services.
Make sure that you prepare your evidence and witnesses before filing your case.
You will need:
Filing statement (tutorial below)
Opening statement (tutorial below)
Evidence (in form of screenshots or other witnesses) (tutorial below)
Time (some cases may take upwards of an hour!)
File your case online by sending a text into the UWA Convo group chat. If you aren't already in it, message another citizen, or contact 781-230-8309.
Copy and paste the following template, and fill in your information. A specific group chat for your case should be created shortly after you file your case.
CASE FILING
I, [YOUR NAME], am filing a case against [DEFENDANT] for [CRIME].
When you are added to the specific group chat for your case, copy and paste your previous filing statement, and then paste your opening statement. Your opening statement should:
Present the reason why you're suing
Indicate the damages you suffered
Detail events leading up to the case
Mention if you have evidence or witnesses, do not present them at this stage
Your defendant has a right to also have opening statements, and the case cannot continue until the defendant gives opening statements unless they are unable to (deemed by the judges).
If you have evidence, now is the time to show it! Present evidence using the templates below:
EVIDENCE [#]: [DETAILS OF EVIDENCE]
Evidence Details should include:
Where and when it was taken
Who was involved in the setting
Why this evidence may incriminate the defendant
The defendant has a right to respond to evidence, and you must wait unless they are deemed unfit.
Be patient! Let the judges deliberate over the evidence,
